feat. Pirritu and Chelsea Elder

Melbourne-based artist Canisha is a soulful singer and lyricist whose emotive and playful music captivates audiences. Her debut EP, DON'T BE SCARED, released in 2024, showcases a confident pop sound enriched by warm and inviting vocals. Inspired by artists like Adele and Harry Styles, Canisha has grown in confidence and purpose, using music to overcome social anxiety and connect with audiences.
Her upcoming release, "Save You From Yourself," set for October 23rd, is her most vulnerable track yet, exploring the fear of having someone close struggle with mental health and alcoholism. Co-written during the Singing Our Future program with soul singer Bumpy, Anthony Liddell, and Jake Amy.

Canisha has had a busy year performing at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, St. Kilda Music Festival, Treaty Day Out and many more. Canisha's music blends pop sensibilities with soul flavour, marked by raw lyricism and storytelling. She aims to create music that others can relate to and find joy in.

Joining Canisha at PERSA Bandroom on FRI 1st Nov is Pirritu and Chelsea Elder. PIRRITU’s music is a gentle, honest, and melodic personal journey that entices you into the depths of sadness, love, and shimmering hope. With two album releases under his belt, the songman’s work honours a cultural journey to connect back to land, language, and family with a continual thirst for deeper understanding of his people and country. Pirritu’s music features folk instrumentation weaving amongst his unique vocals like the gentle wind and waters that the Ngiyampaa man sings of.

Indie-pop artist Chelsea Elder loves sharing stories, whether it be over a bottle of wine with a friend, or on a stage in front of a crowd. Her songs have a raw, unadulterated feel. Chelsea has a distinctive sound both in her vocals and in her writing. Her unforgettable melodies, witty lyricism and unique voice define her intriguing style. Her lyrics are honest to a fault, poetic but also "matter of fact." Pulling from her folk, jazz and musical theatre background, she creates a fresh indie pop fusion, filled with pleasantly surprising chord progressions and lush arrangements.
