Fifty years on, Hotel California remains a cornerstone of classic rock — an iconic album that defined a generation and cemented the Eagles as rock legends. In 2026, The Australian Eagles Show, Australia’s premier tribute to the Eagles’ unforgettable sound, honours the milestone live in concert.
The show’s first set will see the band performing the Hotel California album in its entirety, followed by the second set of all the other Eagles classic hits.
Renowned for their pitch-perfect harmonies and masterful musicianship, The Australian Eagles Show is fronted by the supremely talented Michael Thompson and Shayne Browne. Backed by a powerhouse five-piece band, the show brings to life the legendary sounds that have captivated audiences for five decades.
Audiences can expect faithful recreations of timeless classics like “Desperado,” “New Kid in Town,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” and, of course, the Grammy-winning epic “Hotel California.” This tour also honours the solo hits of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and the late Glenn Frey, offering a full-bodied tribute to the band’s enduring legacy.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, the Eagles are one of the best-selling bands of all time, with more than 150 million albums sold worldwide, six number-one albums, and six Grammy Awards. Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) remains one of the best-selling albums of the 20th century, while Hotel California, released in December 1976, is widely regarded as one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded.
The Australian Eagles Show doesn’t just perform the songs — they channel the spirit of the original band, delivering an authentic concert experience that continues to wow fans across Australia and beyond.
Linda Ronstadt shared a close and enduring musical connection with The Eagles that played a significant role in shaping the sound of the 1970s California rock scene. Ronstadt, often referred to as the "Queen of Rock," was not a member of The Eagles but had a profound impact on their early career. She introduced the band to audiences by featuring them as her backup band on tour, helping to raise their profile. Furthermore, her hit cover of Jackson Browne's "Desperado" inspired Glenn Frey and Don Henley to write the iconic song of the same name, which became one of The Eagles' signature tracks.
This collaborative and influential relationship between Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles left an indelible mark on rock history and this will be celebrated within the show featuring special guest - 'The Linda Ronstadt Story.' Following her resounding success with 'The Johnny Cash & June Carter Show' and 'The Songs Of Dolly Parton,' the talented Brooke McMullen will take the stage with The Australian Eagles to perform Linda's beloved hits, including 'Blue Bayou,' 'You're No Good,' 'Poor Poor Pitiful Me,' and 'It's So Easy,' among others.
Whether you're a lifelong fan or discovering the Eagles for the first time, this 50th-anniversary celebration of Hotel California is an unforgettable night of music, and nostalgia
