Australian thrash metal legends Mortal Sin celebrate 40 years of mayhem in 2026 – and for the first time ever, the band will bring their iconic thrash assault to North Queensland.

Joining them on this special run are Adelaide thrashers Hidden Intent, celebrating 15 years of drop-bear-fuelled chaos, delivering the high-energy mayhem they’ve become known for across Australia and internationally.

Also joining all three North Queensland shows are rising extreme metal outfit Abysmal Fortress, with local metal legends supporting in each town, making this a stacked night of Australian heavy music from top to bottom.

Mortal Sin’s place in thrash metal history is undisputed. Formed in Sydney in the mid-80s, the band helped put Australian thrash on the global map with their legendary debut album Mayhemic Destruction, recorded at Sydney’s Studio 301 in 1986.

2026 marks several major milestones for the band:
• 40 years since Mayhemic Destruction
• 20 years since An Absence of Faith
• 15 years since Psychology of Death

It also marks their first return to the stage since 2011, making this tour one of the most anticipated Australian metal events in years.

The 2026 lineup sees the return of original members Mat Maurer (vocals) and Andy Eftichiou (bass) alongside Nathan Shea (guitar) and Ryan Huthnance (guitar), joined by Sydney drummer George Delinicolis (LIVEWIRE / Bastardizer) for the tour.

Fans can expect a career-spanning set of thrash classics, celebrating one of Australia’s most important metal bands.

With Hidden Intent, Abysmal Fortress, and local heavy hitters in each city, this North Queensland run promises a full-tilt night of Australian metal mayhem.
