PROIBIDONA - Furacao

PROIBIDONA is one of the most iconic Brazilian LGBTQIA+ parties in Brisbane, created to celebrate Brazilian culture, music, and freedom far from home. Known for its high-energy dancefloor and strong sense of community, it brings together people from all backgrounds to experience the vibrant spirit of Brazil.

For this special edition, we’re bringing the essence of Furacão 2000 to Brisbane. If you’ve never heard of it, Furacão 2000 is a legendary brand from Rio de Janeiro that helped shape and popularise Brazilian funk (also known as Baile Funk). It started in the 1970s as a sound system and became famous for hosting massive dance parties in the favelas, with powerful beats, MCs, and an electrifying crowd. Expect heavy bass, raw energy, and a sound that defines a huge part of Brazilian nightlife culture.

This edition will take over The Wickham, one of Brisbane’s most iconic LGBTQIA+ venues — the perfect setting for a night like this.
