Things of Stone and Wood: The Final Forest Tour
Things of Stone & Wood – Live at Lefty’s Music Hall, Brisbane
Friday 13 November 2026
Nearly 40 years after a rag-tag bunch of folkies came together in Melbourne and formed Things of Stone & Wood, the band remain one of Australia’s most loved and enduring acoustic acts.
Best known for the iconic hit “Happy Birthday Helen”, Things of Stone & Wood went on to achieve national success, ARIA and APRA Awards, international tours, a gold-certified album The Yearning and even a memorable parody on The Late Show.
Now, in 2026, the band are back on the road with two new albums and two national tours, continuing to do what they do best: delivering passionate, energetic live shows packed with great songs, big harmonies and plenty of heart.
The November tour celebrates the release of their new album The Final Forest, the companion to March’s Rae Street, which debuted at #10 on the ARIA Australian Album Chart.
Recorded with a classic band-in-the-studio approach, The Final Forest draws on the band’s 70s-inspired influences while retaining all the warmth, authenticity and unmistakable Things of Stone & Wood sound. Built around the simple foundation of a piano trio, live instrumentation and close harmonies, it captures the spirit of the band that first came together drinking beers and singing in a Melbourne share house.
Expect brand new songs from The Final Forest and Rae Street alongside the classics, including “Happy Birthday Helen”, “Wildflowers”, “Rock This Boat” and “Share This Wine”.
Things of Stone & Wood live at Lefty’s Music Hall, Brisbane. Friday 13 November.
A rare chance to see one of Australia’s great acoustic bands doing what they do best, live and loud.
