The Huxton Creepers: 40 Years of 12 Days to Paris
Live at Wallaby Hotel
Sunday 23 August
Forty years on from the release of their classic debut album 12 Days to Paris, beloved Melbourne rock & roll band The Huxton Creepers are back on the road for their first national run of dates since 2011.
For the first time ever, the band will perform 12 Days to Paris in full, along with a stack of fan favourites from across their career.
One of Australia’s most loved and hardest working guitar bands of the ’80s, The Huxton Creepers built their name on big hooks, chiming guitars and unforgettable live shows. Emerging with the spirit of Sunnyboys, Hoodoo Gurus and The Saints running through their sound, they became a major influence on the next wave of Australian bands, with fans including members of Powderfinger and You Am I.
Expect to hear classic tracks including “My Cherie Amour”, “I Will Persuade You”, “Autumn Leaves”, “King of the Road”, “Don’t Even Think About It”, “Skin of My Teeth”, “Small Mercies” and more.
With original members Rob Craw, Matthew Eddy and Arch Law joined by Julian Matthews of The Stems on lead guitar, this anniversary show is a rare chance to celebrate one of the great Australian guitar records, live and loud.
As Rolling Stone put it back in 1986:
“Ultimately this is one of the best debut rock & roll albums made in this country.”
Catch The Huxton Creepers at Wallaby Hotel on Sunday 23 August for a night of classic Australian rock & roll, nostalgia, big guitars and songs that still hit hard four decades on.
