Growing up in the small coastal city of Warrnambool in Victoria, Flynn Gurry has made continuous waves over the years, recently spending the summer of 2023 in Europe extensively performing as well as ticking off Australian shows supporting Ian Moss of Cold Chisel. Also closer to home, Gurry has toured nationally with beloved folk duo Pierce Brothers, shared stages with some of his musical heroes, including King Stingray, Ash Grunwald, Kim Churchill, and Howard (Goanna), and appeared as part of major festival lineups including Port Fairy Folk Festival and Loch Hart Music Festival. In 2022, Gurry wowed with his first release ‘Weather & Dogs?’, mixed and mastered by the ARIA Award-winning Jan Skubiszewski (Illy, John Butler Trio, The Cat Empire), showcasing both his absorbing songwriting prowess as well as his vibrant sonic flair, seamlessly executed with moments of vulnerability and dreamy production. Renowned for his guitar dexterity, Gurry’s musical journey commenced from a young age, attending Port Fairy Folk Festival in his youth and ultimately fusing his love of pop influences and storytelling along with his adoration for folk music that would lead him to creating his own music and expanding his reputation busking around Melbourne; and ultimately capturing the attention of fellow folk and busking trailblazers Pierce Brothers in the process.
