Melbourne’s Very own Ben McCarthy is finally taping his 2nd stand up special and closing out his tour of his new show "Closer To Nowhere" right here at the ESPY.

Ben McCarthy a international comedian from right here in Melbourne Performances on some of the worlds biggest stages for comedy and sold out shows in over 40 Countries is Finally back in Australia.

Off the back of a successful 2 year world tour and debut Stand up Special in June 2019, Ben was riding that wave of success turning it into a new show with a new world tour with more then 2 years and 550 dates ready to go and felt like the only thing that could stop his momentum would be a worldwide pandemic but what were the odds of that happening………………well 11 hours ( not days or weeks, HOURS) out from show 1 that’s exactly what happened and the tour was put on Hiatus.

After postponement after postponement and eventually a cancellation Ben scrapped the entire show and during the lockdown put pen to pad and decided to put a new body of work together and from it came “ Closer To Nowhere” Bens new show Closer To Nowhere tells the tales of the life of a comedian on the road, becoming married and a first time father, an incredible weight loss journey, pre covid travel stories, life of the lockdown in Melbourne and how he felt like his life was getting him “Closer To Nowhere” which has now lead to a new hour of comedy.
